Fantastic news for Samsung Galaxy Tab owners with Sprint – your Android tablet device’s firmware can now be updated with Sprint’s over-the-air update. This much anticipated firmware upgrade focuses primarily on new drivers for the LCD, and an Exchange email client application.

This update is actually already underway and is expected to finish for all Sprint customers within four days. Other enhancements you’ll get from this update include the QIK software update to higher version 0.04.77 which overlays the existing versions, and a lot of bug fixes for the Exchange email client.

Samsung’s newest device, the Galaxy Tab,  will be launching in the U.S. within the next few months. Although a release date has not been released yet, Samsung did release which carriers – yes, carriers – will be carrying the new Galaxy Tab. All four major carriers, AT&T, Verizon, Sprint, and T-mobile, will be selling the Galaxy Tab.

According to a press conference held in New York City, Samsung announced that the new Samsung Galaxy Tab will NOT have voice capabilities, as opposed to their European Galaxy Tab. The European Tab let’s users receive and place calls using a headset which plugs into the Galaxy Tab. Apparently, it won’t be in the US Versions.

According to Amazon, we may be in for a terrible surprise. That surprise comes with a $1,000+ price mark for the new Samsung Galaxy Tab.
