The other day T-Mobile released new information about their two upcoming devices runing on its HSPA+ network, one of the devices is the Samsung Galaxy S 4G. It is one of the first tablets to run the Honeycomb version of Android. However, the price was still not revealed as well as the exact date of when the two devices will be made available.
The Samsung Galaxy S 4G will be one of the first smartphones that can gain access to T-Mobile’s HSPA+ network. Although, for now it’s hard to tell just how fast it can go to impress the user. According to T-Mobile, the network has a theoretical maximum download speed of 21Mbps but they didn’t say anything about the normal speed it can provide on a real-world daily use basis. They did have a report about devices that can do 14.4Mbps on the network and was able to achieve 4Mbps download speed.
T-Mobile did say that the Samsung Galaxy S 4G will be on the market on February. The device will have two cameras and the Qik software to allow video chat. It will be shipped along with the Android 2.2, or Froyo. Randy Meyerson, director of product management at T-Mobile, said that they do understand that their consumers want the latest versions that is why he said “we’re working closely with our partners to figure out how to bring it to market”.
Features and specs of the Samsung Galaxy S 4G include a four inch Super Amoled touchscreen display, a back camera with a 720p HD camcorder, and a front camera as well. It has a 1GHz Cortex A8 Hummingbird processor from Samsung , with a free16GB MicroSD memory card.
It will also be given applications seen on TV from T-Mobile which allows users to stream TV from select stations and DoubleTwist with AirSync. AirSync is another application that uses Wi-Fi connection to synchronize photos, music and videos to your computer. More news will be revealed soon.
