Samsung Galaxy Tab now available in Arabic

Here’s an interesting trend for Galaxy Tab enthusiasts, international use is on the rise. According to IDC research, the sale of smartphones and touchscreen tablets has grown internationally from 2.6 million in 2009 to 4.3 million 3rd quarter of 2010. Do you need access to applications like social media and Islamic websites? The Samsung Galaxy Tab is now fully capable of displaying Arabic contents. Samsung Galaxy S has already accomplished this, and now the Tab is ready to take on the language challenge.

According to Stephen Jun, Mobile Phone Sales and Marketing Director at Samsung Gulf, they want Arabic consumers to be motivated to purchase their product that’s why they had this done. “It comes fully equipped with the native Arabic language which means no more illegible characters when checking your Arabic content,” Jun said. The Arabic Samsung Galaxy Tab comes with tons of useful features such as the Hijri calendar, Prayer Times, a Mobile Quran, Al Sunna, Al Doaa, Zakaty, and extensive details about the origin and benefits of Prayers, Tasbeehs, and Sunnas. Furthermore, Hijri calendar runs with real-time updates of Islamic and National holidays, while the Prayer Times app calculates official prayer times in over 400 countries with different Adhan voices, plus it’ll show you Qibla’s position to help your during prayer sessions.

Other features are the mobile Quran app for popular Ottoman calligraphy, this app is Al Azhar certified. Arabic users can also receive automatic indexes of all Muhammed Sunnahs for several situations, which explains the rewards of each Sunna. Al Doaa application displays Doaas and Ahadith Qudsaya with comprehensive explanations of origins and benefits.
To further encourage Arabs to buy Samsung smartphones, Jun said “The Arab world today is becoming more and more fast-paced where constant communication and efficient tools are essential to stay up to speed. Smart tablets have enabled us to have access to information everywhere and at any time”.
