Samsung’s mission is to win in ‘tablet war’

Samsung Electronics Galaxy Tab was present on the G20 Business Summit at Sheraton Walkerhill Hotel in Seoul, Thursday.

PC portfolio is strengthen with the help of 7-inch compact device.

The digital tablet-style is reborn.

Tablet PCs, launched just a few months ago, are today’s trend, iare as popular as when iPod was first released to the public and became the new standard for almost all digital music players.

The biggest company by revenue, Samsung Electronics, understands the fast pace growth of smartphones and PC majors, and they have no intentions of being left behind, that’s why they have the Galaxy Tab.

Some of the tablet entries have been criticized to have low sensitivity for touch screen and weighty for a device.

The Galaxy Tab, on the other hand, has received praises including light weight, more portable, useful and incredible LCD screen.

Samsung announced that their Galaxy Tab is the counterpart of Apple’s iPad and that this is the result of their long term efforts to become the best in portable mobile PCs.

60,000,000 sales is the expected growth next year in the market for tablet PCs. Samsung is to unleash new devices at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) at the beginning of 2011 as answer to more upcoming gadgets from other companies.

A Samsung executive also said that their company is excited to get a big chunk in technologies like PCs and smarphones.

Hong Won-pyo, executive vice president of Global Product Strategy in the company’s mobile communication division, said that they are always attending the G20 summit to make their gadgets become better known by allowing some key business executives to use them.

Compact Device
The Galaxy Tab has numerous advantages over Apple’s iPad, some of which are its light weightness and more mobile.
It uses a 7-inch TFT touch-screen display with 1024 by 600 pixel resolution. The weight is 13 ounces (0.4 kilos)

The Galaxy is tab is more portable in a sense that it is small enough to be put in your jean’s back pocket. It also has the capability to support Adobe Flash 10.1 due to its Android OS by Google.

The amazing thing about the Tab is that is has 2 cameras, front for video conferencing, has 1.3MP, and back 3MP. Plus an outstanding battery able to power the device for 7hrs when doing video playback.

It’s getting easier to uses thee smart devices now that content developers are adding more customized applications that are user friendly.

Next cash-cow

Samsung is uncertain if they would treat the tablet PC business as their next front liner but seeing as to how great it is going so far, it’s a big possibility.

Few sources of the Tab’s success came from positive reviews by authorized tech-related publications as per company officials and market analysts.

Kim Hwan, vice president of its mobile communications business, said that Samsung’s goal is to sell more than 6 million Tabs before next year ends from their 1 million current sales

According to the executives, tablets are selling better than smartphones.

Galaxy Tab wants to become more popular than Galaxy S so they are introducing it to 160 mobile carriers globally compared to 110 carriers of Galaxy S.

Rumors are spreading that Samsung will make a 10 inch tablet or even smaller to extent its tablet PC lineup.
An anonymous Samsung executive said that Apple’s OS will possibly be beaten by the Android platform because it is less popular to content developers, PC and handset majors, this is another thing that makes upcoming Tabs better.

Researchers said that the Android OS was second largest on the market after iOS during the latest quarter.

Korean market is the best place to test digital products to see just how successful they may be in the future.
