Remote Access app for Android Tablets upgraded by DISH Network including the Galaxy Tab

A free mobile app, called Remote Access, allows you to gain access to your DVR recordings and lets you schedule new recordings no matter where you are when you put this in a powerful combination like the Sling Adapter with a high definition DVR like the ViP722. Now this application is upgraded to go well with Android tablets.

Upgraded version of the Remote Access app has been used by Apple’s iPhone and iPad. Now, Android powered devices will also get this chance. Samsung Galaxy tab users have had a less-than-ideal configuration with video because it has been designed for Android-based smartphones which have smaller screens.

With the upgraded version of Remote Access for Android-powered devices, this drawback has changes and removed, DISH Network made it possible to support video optimization for higher resolution.

Ira Bahr, DISH Network Chief Marketing Officer, said “DISH Network is the only pay-TV provider to offer a true TV everywhere solution, and now we’ve optimized that experience for the larger screen size of the Android tablets”. And adds “Now Dish Network customers can enjoy their TV Everywhere experience on tablets like the Galaxy Tab, as well as the dozens of new Android-based tablet devices soon to be introduced.”

More functions and features have been added to the upgraded Remote Access app. Features like provide compatible DVRs the capability to browse and find up to nine days of programming, schedule DVR recordings, manage conflicts, delete shows on multiple receivers, and effectively use their Android tablets as a fully functioning DVR remote control.

You can download this application for free through Android Market. iPad, iPhone, iPod touch, Android mobile phones and Blackberry devices also have DISH Remote Access app that are compatible with them.

A large scale adaptive streaming leader, called Move Networks, has become an asset of DISH, this news came from the DISH Network CES booth. There is also something for Oprah fans, the Oprah Winfrey Network, also known as OWN, is now included in the channel lineup which can be viewed on DISH channel 189.
