PressReader now available for Samsung Galaxy Tab as it hits Android Market

PressReader app for the Google Android platform can now be downloaded from Android Market, confirms NewspaperDirect. Just late last year NewspaperDirect worked hand in hand with Samsung in PressReader and PressDisplay apps preinstallation on few of Samsung’s Android-based devices such as Galaxy Tab and Galaxy S smartphones.

PressReader has more than 1,700 newspaper and magazine titles.

“When PressReader hit the iPad, we collected many requests for the same app on Android devices,” according to Alex Kroogman, CEO of NewspaperDirect in a statement. “With the debut of PressReader for Android, we have opened up a wealth of new delivery channels for our publishing partners.”

NewspaperDirect said that PressReader is a free app for Google Android devices. This app will enable users to purchase newspapers and magazines for $0.99 per issue or downloaded in combination with a paid PressDisplay.com subscription.
