DOCOMO releases Samsung GALAXY S and GALAXY Tab in Japan [Samsung Japan]

Samsung Electonics Co., Ltd’s GALAXY S smartphone and GALAXY Tab smart media device, has a Japanese-market versions by NTT DOCOMO Inc. and they are revealed today (October 5, 2010) in TOKYO, Japan. Scheduled launch dates for DOCOMO Smartphone GALAXY is late this month and the DOCOMO Smartphone GALAXY Tab is on late November.

Android 2.2 is the operating system used by both devices which allows the users to select numerous applications in mobile portals Android Market™, DOCOMO market and Samsung Apps. With the Android 2.2 operating system installed on these devices, DOCOMO’s new e-book service is well supported and it will be unveiled in late October on a trial basis. Another application includes sp-mode™ service that allows DOCOMO users to access i-mode™ mail accounts with their smartphones.

With the GALAXY S, you get an ultra-bright SUPER AMOLED screen that is 4 inches big, enjoy Flash® with a PC-like access to diverse Web content, high-definition 5.0 megapixel camera for playback on its high-resolution vivid screen.

You will feel a new, fun and easy way of surfing the net anywhere you go with the GALAXY Tab. Like the GALAXY S, GALAXY Tab also supports Flash on its browser. And even with just a 7-inch screen, you will be impressed with the 600 x 1024 pixel resolution for viewing pictures. Dimensions for this device measures only 12.1 mm thick and is 382 grams heavy. The mobility of this device is extraordinaire, and having to hold the device with just one hand is certainly a great advantage while on the move.
