It looks like Samsung will go ahead with the rumored price drop for their Galaxy Tab 10.1 in anticipation of the release of the iPad 2 at only $499. The announcement also leaked that the ten inch Tab would be launched in Australia early next month, but didn’t reveal the exact date.

Verizon Customers Get $200 Price Cut on the Samsung Galaxy Tab

T-Mobile and Sprint have already gone through price reductions on their Samsung Galaxy Tab. T-Mobile sells theirs for $249.99 with a two year contract and a mail-in rebate, while Sprint sells theirs for $299.99. Now, it’s Verizon’s turn to slash the Galaxy Tab price.

As we recall, Samsung mentioned nothing about the price of their latest tablet PC. Now, we received news that there is already a price tag for the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 in Europe. This news came from Vodafone Portugal and they say it will be priced for €699. This latest Android device from Samsung will be made available by March in Portugal.
